Maddington White City Football Club held a Fathers Day fete on Sunday, with a bouncy castle, face painting and spit roast lunch drawing the whole family out for the game.
With even Gosnells mayor David Goode coming out for a bite to eat, club manager Petar Mrdja said the event was a huge success.
“It was great to see so many new people at the game. Its events like this that create atmosphere and bring people to our club, it’s what makes Maddington such a special place to visit,” he said.
“I can’t thank the ladies in the canteen enough for the work they put in during the day, they were brilliant. The kids also got involved and ran a cake stand to support the canteen.”
Mr Mrdja said it’s likely the event will be back next year.
