Locals say a trailer-truck rollover at the intersection of Albany Hwy and Brookton Hwy early on Tuesday morning was not the first of its kind at the spot, and Main Roads WA have urged safer driving practises to avoid similar incidents.

The rollover spilled the trailer’s cargo of wheat grain over a large area, and workers busied themselves with industrial vacuums to clean up the mess.

The Examiner reported the rollover of a cement truck and trailer at the same intersection on the afternoon of April 19 last year.

A spokesperson from Main Roads WA said they have previously undertaken an investigation into safety at the intersection, and had no plans to modify it.

“The intersection itself is a signalised intersection with Advanced Warning Flashing Signals installed on both the northern and southern approaches,” the spokesperson said.

“As a consequence, motorists approaching the intersection are already provided with adequate warning of the potential need to stop and should be driving with a higher degree of caution,” they said.
