The Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale is launching Growing Through It, a free mental health workshop series for teens aged 12-17, designed to help those impacted by suicide, grief, and loss.

The workshops, led by experienced grief specialists from the Grief Centre of WA, will begin on 17 October and run for eight weeks at Byford Library.

This supportive workshop offers teens a safe space to share their experiences, connect with others, and learn coping strategies from professionals who specialise in grief recovery. Sessions will include expert guidance, peer support activities, and practical tools to help teens navigate their emotional challenges.

“Our teens face immense emotional challenges, especially when dealing with loss. This series of workshops is a critical opportunity to give them the support and resources they need to heal and grow. ‘Growing Through It’ is about letting our youth know they are not alone in their grief,” Shire President Rob Coales said.
