Forrestdale will get another fuel station following an announcement by LandCorp.

A new 7-Eleven petrol station and convenience store was announced for LandCorp’s Crossroads Industrial Estate in Forrestdale.

The announcement came as LandCorp announced it had sold more than 50 per cent of the Crossroads stage two release on the corner of Tonkin Highway and Ranford Road.

Construction was already underway on the 7-Eleven, which would be at the entrance to the 41-hectare estate.

The petrol station was expected to open in the middle of the year.

LandCorp chief executive Frank Marra said the announcement would be good for local businesses.

7-Eleven general manager corporate affairs Clayton Ford said the company was satisfying demand in the area.

“We’ve received a positive response from local consumers at our nearby stores in Byford South and Canning Vale that opened last year,” he said.

There were already a number of fuel stations near Crossroads Industrial Estate including Puma and Caltex service stations less than three-kilometres away in Seville Grove, a Caltex on Armadale Road and Southern River Coles Express four-kilometres away.

When complete the 7-Eleven will be the closest petrol station to Tonkin Highway.
