Businesses in the Forrestdale Business Park could now connect to the National Broadband Network after the area was switched on last month.

About 3200 premises in the Forrestdale, Haynes, Seville Grove and Armadale area were affected by the change, adding to the 12,000 existing homes and businesses in the City of Armadale already switched on.

Business Armadale president Wayne Nurse said faster internet speeds would enable businesses in the park to improve their productivity and service output.

“Owners in the area now have access to twenty first century technology in terms of internet connection,” he said.

“It will allow them to engage in their business operations in a more timely matter and access the technology to further improve their business operations and increase productivity and efficiency.

“At the end of the day it will help their bottom line and make the region more attractive in the area.”

City of Armadale executive officer Ray Tame said he was glad the project had been kept on schedule.

“It’s fantastic,” he said.

“We really looking forward to hearing our businesses are being connected and they’re getting the speeds they need.”

NBN said 4000 premises were left to be connected in Cardup, Bedfordale, Byford, Mount Nasura, Mount Richon and Armadale areas and will be switched on in the coming months.
