Police released video take from CCTV cameras in the area of people they want to speak to.

Strike Force Vulcan officers are currently investigating the cause of several fires that occurred in Maddington between March 9 and 12.

The cause of the fires are being treated as suspicious and the investigation will assess if these fires in Maddington are linked.

  • About 5.10pm on Saturday March 9, trees were set alight on Warrida Way.
  • About 6.45pm on Sunday March 10, bushland was set alight on Warrida Way near Hoffman Street.
  • About 12.05pm on Sunday March 10, a large bushfire was reported on Kamber Court. Several homes were evacuated as the fire threatened people and property.
  • About 6.30pm on Tuesday March 12, a scrub fire was reported in Peace Park, Kamber Court.

Department of Fire and Emergency Services personnel were called to attend each fire and were able to extinguish each fire before they were able to spread and damage property or injure people, although several firefighters were treated for smoke inhalation during the bushfire on March 10.

Strike Force Vulcan investigators wish to speak to anyone in the vicinity of these fires, particularly the two people in the vision, who anyone who saw any suspicious persons, vehicles or activity.
