Bowden Medal winner Jye Clements will play for the Gosnells Hawks Football Club this season.

The 2021 football season is set to get underway this weekend, with the Gosnells Hawks FC playing at Gosnells Oval.

Gosnells’ Colts side will take on Kwinana at 10.55am, ahead of the League team’s clash with Dianella-Morley at 2.25pm.

The Hawks’ E3 team will face off against Kalamunda at Ray Owen Reserve at 2.30pm, in a replay of last year’s grand final.

The Reserves have a bye, while the women’s competition is scheduled to kick-off on April 24.

In 2021, the Hawks will compete in the C2, E3, Colts, and Women: C1 divisions of the Perth Football League.

Paul Clements has been appointed head coach of the club, with Sam Parker serving as assistant coach.

GHFC president Michael McCaughan said he was pleased with the numbers pre-season, especially with the many new players joining the club.

Mr McCaughan said he was confident that the teams would all perform well this season.

“Any person wishing to join a progressive club, keep fit, and enjoy a game of Australian Rules Football is invited to join the club,” he said.

The maximum age for Colts’ players was extended by 12 months in 2013.

All players turning 20 in 2021 are eligible to play in that competition.

Training sessions for men will be held at Gosnells Oval, from 6pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The women will train on Mondays and Wednesdays. New players are always welcome.

GHFC – which was established in 1911 – has a proud record of 16 league premierships, and some of the best facilities in the competition.
