The Roleystone Neighbourhood Family Centre opened its doors in celebration of local dads on

Saturday, for an afternoon of classic cars, sizzling sangas and family fun at Hugh Jones’ Father’s Day (Eve) BBQ.

Some 50 local dads and their families joined special guests including Paul Hetherington from The Fathering Project and Byford Classic Car Club secretary Barry Hahn and members, and were treated to a classic car display, parenting resources from The Fathering Project, and professional Father’s Day portraits by Richard Polden Photography at the free Father’s Day event.

“To the fathers, step-fathers, grandfathers, uncles, brothers and other father figures in our lives, we celebrate you,” Mr Jones said.

“Thank you to the Roleystone Family Centre for hosting my community BBQ, to the members of the Byford Classic Car Club who braved the rain, to Paul of The Fathering Project for his support, and to Richard Polden Photography for beautifully capturing some proud father figures and their youngsters.

“And special thanks to my wife Cam, who helped out cooking up a storm on her birthday!”
