Police have charged a 17 year old Wungong male after allegedly stealing a breathalyser from a booze bus earlier this year and posting it for sale on a Facebook group.

It will be alleged the teenager stole a WA Police Lion Alcometer from a breath and alcohol bus in June 2016.

The item was then allegedly posted for sale on the Perth beer economy page, which allows people to post items or services for sale in exchange for alcohol.

Police received information from the public about the item being posted online for sale and identified the teenager.

On September 27 Armadale Police found the breathalyser at the teenager’s home and charged him by summons for stealing.

He will appear before the Perth Children’s Court at a later date.
