Gosnells Football Club celebrated a successful weekend despite mixed results across the grades, with the Women’s and Colts sides both securing their places in the 2026 finals series.
Women
The Women’s team continued its outstanding season with a 7.7 (49) to 5.3 (33) victory over Wanneroo.
Controlling the contest from the opening bounce, the Hawks used the ball efficiently and capitalised on their opportunities to record another important home win.
Kyraley Drage was named best afield, with Talia Coyne and Telisha Brown also producing strong performances.
Colts
The Colts also returned from the bye in style, defeating Swan Valley 16.9 (105) to 5.5 (35). The dominant victory sees the young Hawks move two games clear on top of the ladder as they build momentum towards finals.
Jesse Vanderplank starred with three goals and was named best on ground, while Tai Morrison and Kye Horan were also among the standout performers.
Brodie Lintern, Tai Morrison, Marquell Spratt and Robert Davis Jnr each added multiple goals.
Reserves
The Reserves were unable to overcome Swan Valley, going down 5.7 (37) to 12.11 (83). After a competitive opening quarter, the visitors gained control in the second term. Scott Lewis, Adam White and Will Crockett led the way for the Hawks.
Despite the result, it was a memorable day for the club as three significant milestones were celebrated.
Brayden Watkins reached an incredible 350 games, Scott Lewis celebrated his 250th game, and Bryan Lutter notched up his 150th club game.
League
The League side battled hard but fell short against Swan Valley, losing 8.12 (60) to 14.16 (100). The Hawks remained competitive throughout much of the afternoon, with Angus Osgood, Jeff Farrell and Ryan Davies leading the way. Farrell also finished with three goals.
The Thirds endured a tough afternoon against Belmont, going down 2.2 (14) to 28.16 (184). Despite the scoreboard, the team’s commitment and determination never faltered, with Tyziah Bilney, Brent Bates and Lucas Tonihi among the side’s best players.
With two teams now locked into the finals and the season entering its final stretch, the Hawks will be looking to build further momentum heading into next week’s matches.
