Last Slice Kelmscott is well on its way towards completion, with the brickwork and verandah area being some of the latest developments to take place.

The Kelmscott Progress Network (KPN) has provided an update on the eagerly awaited opening of the Last Slice Pizzeria in Kelmscott town centre.

The successful Sports Bar brand, which offers New York-style pizza, fried wings and many other options, currently has three venues in WA, in Midland, Bunbury and Dalyelup.

“Renovations are well underway, and the venue is really starting to come together. From what we’ve seen so far, the place is looking fantastic and is shaping up to be a great addition to our local area,” the KPN announced.

“There has been a slight delay to the opening timeline, with the opening date now expected to be towards the end of September. While it’s a little longer to wait, it’s great to see the work progressing and the fit-out taking shape.”

The site previously held the Kelmscott Sizzler restaurant, which was forced to close its doors in November 2020, alongside all its Australian venues, due to the disruption caused by the Covid-19 Pandemic.

It remained unused until its repurposing for Last Slice.

The KPN has, since its founding in early 2025, been advocating for substantial refurbishment, rejuvenation and care of the Kelmscott town centre.

Co-founder Chris Kirkby said the community were eager to see a new venue at the old Sizzler site.

“After sitting vacant for more than five years, it’s fair to say many in our community are enjoying watching the rejuvenation of the old Sizzler building into the Last Slice Pizzeria and Sports Bar,” he said.

“Reviews of the chain’s other venues suggest they are extremely popular, and their arrival in Kelmscott is bound to breathe new life into our town centre. We are indeed looking forward to seeing the transformation of the building completed and welcoming the Last Slice to Kelmscott.”

There has been much enthusiasm expressed by locals for the new venue.
