The Colts fearlessly dominated their match, with Hawks player Marquelle Spratt earning the best-on-ground display.

Gosnells Football Club returned from the mid-season break in strong fashion, recording victories in the Women’s, Colts and Reserves competitions, while also celebrating a significant milestone for one of the club’s leaders.

A huge congratulations has been given to Luke Edgelow on reaching the incredible milestone of 100 games for the Hawks. Since making his Colts debut in 2021, Luke has become an integral part of our football club both on and off the field.

Luke has won the Most Consistent Award 2021, Coaches Award 2025 and has served as Vice-Captain 2025 and 2026. Luke’s commitment, leadership and consistency have made him a valued member of the club, and reaching 100 games is a testament to the hard work he puts in every week.

The Gosnells Women’s team continued its impressive season with a hard-fought 2.2 (14) to 0.4 (4) victory over Cottesloe/Mosman Park.

In a tightly contested match where scoring opportunities were limited, the Hawks made the most of their chances in front of goal, while a disciplined defensive effort restricted the opposition to four behinds.

Tanesha Coyne, Iyeesha Jetta and Kyralee Drage were outstanding contributors in the victory as the Hawks secured another valuable four points.

The Colts produced another commanding performance, overwhelming Hammond Park 19.6 (120) to 0.5 (5) and continuing their dominant standing this season.

The win means Gosnells has now defeated every side so far in the competition this season and remains one of the benchmark teams heading into the second half of the year.

Marquelle Spratt starred with six goals in a best-on-ground display, while Kye Horan added three majors. Spratt, Derek Derschow and Noah Millar were recognised among the side’s best players after a dominant four-quarter effort.

The challenge now for the young Hawks will be maintaining their standards as they become the side every team is aiming to beat.

The Reserves produced one of the club’s most memorable moments of the season, edging Canning South Perth by a single point, 7.5 (47) to 7.4 (46).

In a seesawing contest, Gosnells found a way when it mattered most, with Blake Pickett kicking the match-winning goal in the final minute to seal a dramatic victory.

Pickett finished with three goals and was among the side’s best players alongside Ryan Green and Tyson Mikolic. The win gives the Reserves valuable momentum as they look to build consistency in the coming rounds.

Despite the celebrations surrounding Vice-Captain Luke Edgelow’s 100th club game, the League side was unable to match a strong Canning South Perth outfit, going down 5.6 (36) to 16.9 (105).

While the result was disappointing, there were still positive individual performances from Lochlan Bloomer, Todd Bennell and Rilee Hodges, who battled hard throughout the contest.

The Hawks will be eager to respond when they return to action next weekend.
An undermanned Thirds side faced a difficult challenge against Cockburn Lakes, eventually falling 3.2 (20) to 18.9 (117).

With several players elevated into the Reserves, the Hawks were tested throughout the afternoon but continued to compete strongly until the final siren.

Cameron Richins, Tyziah Bilney and Seth Rayment were named the side’s best players in a performance that reflected the group’s resilience and commitment.

The club now turns its attention to Round 9, with the Colts, Reserves and League sides travelling to Piara Waters. The Women’s team faces a tough away assignment against ladder leaders Whitford, while the Thirds travel to Manning.

Supporters are encouraged to get behind the Hawks, with a supporters’ bus departing the Corfield Tavern at 12pm on Saturday 13 June for Piara Waters and returning after the League game for team awards at the club.

With three wins from five matches and plenty of positives across the grades, the Hawks head into the next round with confidence and momentum.
