Four bushfires were reported in Perth’s south eastern suburbs early in the week.

Serpentine Jarrahdale had a hotter-than-usual start to the week with three bushfires burning in three separate locations, with Armadale recording one incident on Monday.

A Department of Fire and Emergency Services spokesperson said the first fire was reported in Oakford at 9.40pm on Sunday, February 1.

“A triple zero call came through a car had gone into a fence and was on fire,” the spokesperson said.

“Fire spread quickly into bushland and into a paddock.

“Running fire was extinguished at 11pm.”

DFES said crews were still at the scene and mopping up the following day.

The second incident was reported in Byford at about 4.30am on Monday, February 2.

The spokesperson said the fire was deliberately lit near Cardup Siding Road, with an emergency warning issued at 5am.

“At 5:36am the forward rate of spread was stopped,” DFES said.

“Cardup Siding Road between Soldiers Road and Hopkinson Road has reopened but with a reduced speed limit.

“A structure fire on Cardup Siding Road was reported at 7:01am. The fire was confined to the roof of the property and was under control at 7:39am.”

A third fire was reported at 11.08am on the western side of South Western Highway that same day.

“Air support was requested to assist ground crews,” the spokesperson said.

“By 11.59am the running fire was stopped and crews began to mop up.”

DFES said a cause was yet to be determined.

The spokesperson said they received a direct alarm at 12.20pm about a fire at an accommodation village.

“It was determined an outbuilding was on fire,” the spokesperson said.

“By 12.37pm crews had brought the fire under control, containing it to the outbuilding.”
