Peppars looking good at the start of the season

Catcher and best on grounds Kaiti F.

The Peppars Softball Club took the diamond for the start of the 2025-26 season facing off against the Hammers.

The team were a little nervous after a few weeks off, but they came out swinging and quickly brought three runs across the plate.

Peppars’ pitching was on fire, with the help of Kelly Havers and Natalie Edwards while the rest of team backed them up nicely with some quick throws to Nicole London at first.

Each time the Peppars batted, they cheered loudly for their players and congratulated each one that came home across the plate.

Standing left to right: Natalie E, Jane A, Natalie V, Nicole L, Melissa B, Kelly H, Aisha S, Kaiti Fasanini and front left to right: scorer Matt B, coach Andie D and Melinda D.

Plenty of sneaky stealers and slugger queens, Peppars managed to connect bat to ball each time they stood in the batter’s box.

Kaiti Fasanini swung a home run and brought herself and a teammate home.

As Natalie Edwards smashed three-base hit and slid into third, the Hammers overthrew the ball in an attempt to tag her out.

But the ball went over the dead ball line and gave Edwards a free run over the home plate.

The teams played five innings with Hammers 11 and Peppars nine at time of game.

Aisha Searles and Kaiti Fasanini were awarded best on grounds.
