Athletes from Gosnells and Districts Little Athletics Centre had a strong showing at the WA State Road Walking Championships on July 19, picking up a haul of medals at Perry Lakes Reserve.
Lyla Gurney and Carly Hood completed in the under 9 girls 1000m race, with Lyla winning silver and Carly taking home bronze.
Ella Dowell won gold in the under 11 girls 2000m race, while Gabriella John earned silver in the 2000m under 12 girls’ race.
Tory D’Alessio secured gold in the under 14 girls 5000m race. Lauren Davis took bronze in the under 15 girls 5000m race, and Trent D’Alessio won silver in the under 16 boys 5000m race.
At the WA State Cross Country Championships on July 26, also held at Perry Lakes Reserve, Liam Domoney earned bronze in the under 14 men’s 4-kilometres race.
A big thank you was extended to all winter coaches at Gosnells for their ongoing support.
Gosnells and Districts Little Athletics Centre has been part of the community for more than 50 years, with its athletes continuing to achieve success at state, national and international levels.
Pre-season training will begin the week of September 15 at Maddington, South Thornlie, Gosnells Olympians and Southern River Little Athletics Clubs.
