Three young athletes from Gosnells and Districts Little Athletics Centre represented Western Australia at the Junior International Athletics Competition held in Singapore early last month.
The event brought together athletes from Western Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, with strong performances across the board from the Gosnells competitors.
Elizabeth John competed in the under 15 girls 200m hurdles, shot put and discus, finishing with personal bests in all three events.
Tory D’Alessio claimed a gold medal in the under 15 girls 1500m race walk and a bronze medal in the 400m relay.
Liam Domoney secured three bronze medals in the under 15 boys 800m, 1500m and 400m relay, along with a silver medal in the 100m relay.
The athletes also made most of their time off the track, enjoying sightseeing and shopping during their trip. One of the highlights was the friendships formed from fellow teammates and international competitors, making memories that will last a lifetime.
