Canning residents can claim up to $500 to turn their verges into lush, low-water gardens under the City of Canning’s Verge Incentive Scheme.
The scheme supports homeowners and tenants to swap bare, paved or artificial strips for thriving, waterwise gardens to boost biodiversity and street appeal. Those replacing non-compliant surfaces like synthetic turf or gravel could be eligible for up to $1, 000.
To apply, residents need to submit a plan and photos before getting started. Once the garden is installed and maintained for four months, a rebate may be issued.
Applications close July 30 and funds are limited.
