Community groups across Canning can now apply for funding to support local projects, as the first round of the City’s 2025/2026 Community Grants Program officially opens.
The program offers financial assistance to sporting clubs, schools, not-for-profit organisations and individuals for projects that help build a more inclusive and thriving community.
City of Canning Mayor Patrick Hall said more than $200,000 in major grants were awarded last year to support 64 initiatives across the city.
He said, “We encourage all community organisations and sports clubs to considering applying for grants for specific projects that will enable them to deliver positive outcomes for the Canning community.
“We are proud to support initiatives that contribute to making Canning a safer, more inclusive and vibrant community.”
Grants of up to $10,000 are available across several categories, including Small Grants, Volunteer Grants, Youth Projects, Equipment Grants, Community and Cultural Events, Disability Access and Inclusion, and Aboriginal Engagement and Reconciliation.
Applications for most Round One grants close at midnight on August 4, 2025, while others, such as Achievement, Volunteer and Small Grants, will remain open until June 30, 2026.
