A week-long police operation in Cannington has led to a drop in crime around a local shopping centre and train station.

Cannington Police, supported by the Mounted Section, carried out targeted patrols in the area to crack down on anti-social behaviour and stealing offences.

Officers were seen patrolling on foot, increasing their visibility around key hotspots.

As a result of the operation, police made two arrests, issued five court summons, and laid 19 charges. They also seized one vehicle and gave written cautions to four juveniles.

Police say the increased presence contributed to a noticeable drop in reported offences during the week.
