Unusual welcome for a common shed

Unusual welcome for a common shed

While it might not be as cute or cuddly the Willetton community garden group believed its new shed deserved the same welcome as babies do.

It is planning a shed shower on August 2.

Deputy chair Chee Wong said the shower would work like a baby shower where people would be encouraged to donate garden tools.

The garden started in August last year but has had nowhere to store tools or hold workshops.

“There’s a wish list we’ve created and so far there’s about 37 items, things like shovels, spades, hoses, wheelbarrows,” he said.

He said the garden would make a lot of progress once the shed was in full use.

“It’s big enough so we can host events in there and running workshops is important part of our agenda.”

The group would also present their vision for the garden and answer any gardening questions at the shower.

It was calling for new members. Search for Willetton community garden on facebook.
