Police are appealing to the public for information in regards to Nathan Scattini whereabouts.

The search for missing 41-year-old man Nathan Scattini has been called off after a body, believed to be his, was found in the bush.

It is believed Mr Scattini was walking in the vicinity of Bob Blackburne Reserve and John Dunn Memorial Park on March 17 when he was bitten by a snake.

He rang St John Ambulance however he did not know his location.

Police resources including the police air wing and mounted section were utilised, along with police officers who conducted ground searches.

State emergency service personnel also assisted with the search.

A body believed to be Mr Scattini was found deceased about 6.07pm on March 19 in bushland near Mustang Road in Champion Lakes.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.

The circumstances surrounding the death are not known.
