Byford Centrepoint Church volunteers cooking breakfast for attendees at last year’s Christmas Breakfast event.

While most residents spent Christmas morning exchanging gifts with loved ones, the dedicated volunteers at Centrepoint Church’s branches in Perth’s south-east were busy cooking up a free breakfast for those in need.

The breakfast featured everything from yoghurt and fruit to bacon and egg muffins, as well as live entertainment for those of all ages in a bid to bring a ray of hope and joy to those experiencing a hard time, loneliness, anxiety, sadness and a sense of emptiness.

Activities included an exclusive Kid Zone for children up to 12, with face painting, games, Christmas Show bags and a visit from Santa Claus himself.

The breakfast ran from 8.30am on December 25, at Bill Hicks Reserve in Byford and Robinson Park in Gosnells.

Centrepoint Church thanked all of its volunteers and those who turned up for their support.
