Armadale Gosnells Landcare Group volunteers have improved their river restoration activities along the Canning River with the recent purchase of a specialised trailer.

The trailer will be able to transport more than 40,000 native seedlings a year to various restorations sites within the Canning, Southern and Wungong River catchments.

The trailer was purchased with a $5000 grant from the Suez community grants program.
Community Landcare coordinator Jen Francis said the money and trailer meant a great deal to the group.

“We never had the capacity to transport a huge amount of seedlings to various restoration sites but now we can continue on our restoration efforts with ease,” she said.

Suez WA infrastructure manager Craig Barker said it was encouraging to see more organisations like Armadale Gosnells Landcare Group raising environmental awareness of river and bushland reserves in Perth.
