The trailer has since been found but the equipment is still missing.

A dual axle trailer equipped with fire equipment that was stolen from a Karrakup property last week has been recovered however the equipment is still missing.

Owner Stuart Ostle said he and his family first noticed the trailer missing from their Manjedal Drive property on Tuesday morning last week.

He told The Examiner it was unbelievable that someone would do something so callous and thoughtless.

“We have had the trailer available now for the last six years and it is parked close to the road so in an emergency you can bring a vehicle in and connect it and go,” he said.

“It is a general purpose trailer however during the summer months it is set up purposely in case of a fire in the immediate area.”

Mr Ostle, who was also a member of the Jarrahdale Volunteer Fire Brigade said it was unbelievable the trailer had been taken again after it was stolen and found in Baldivis two years ago.

The trailer has since been found abandoned in Byford bushland however police still need the public’s help in locating the equipment.

Anyone with information was asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
