Australians are set to receive another wave of cost-of-living support from this week, with a range of government changes taking effect from July 1.
From next Monday, workers on minimum and award wages will receive a 3.5 percent pay rise, which is expected to benefit up to 2.9 million Australians.
Employers will also be required to contribute more to workers’ superannuation, with the minimum rate rising to 12 percent. Super will now be paid on all government Paid Parental Leave, which is increasing to 24 weeks. The income thresholds for eligibility will also rise.
Energy bill relief is on the way too. Every household and around one million small businesses will receive a further $150 off their power bills before the end of the year.
