Community organisations working in climate resilience and inclusion can now apply for funding through the QBE Foundation’s 2026 Australian Local Grants Program. The foundation has opened applications for grants of $50,000 aimed at supporting high impact initiatives delivered by organisations working across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific.
QBE Foundation Co-Chair Chris Esson said the program recognises the work of organisations supporting their communities.
“Our local grants program continues to highlight the incredible dedication and impact of organisations working at the heart of their communities. By supporting initiatives that enhance climate resilience and advance inclusion, we’re helping support positive change where it’s needed most. We’re excited to see the meaningful work and initiatives that emerge through this year’s applications,” Mr Esson said. One of last year’s recipients was Deadly Science, an Indigenous STEM community organisation that works to create STEM equity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learners. The organisation provides science resources and education programs to more than 800 regional and remote schools.
Founder and CEO Corey Tutt said the grant is supporting its Deadly Weather initiative. “We are using the grant to support our Deadly Weather initiative, a STEM education program blending First Nations seasonal knowledge with smart weather technology to engage remote Indigenous learners in climate science,” Mr Tutt said. The program equips educators with permanent kits designed to deliver a scalable and sustainable approach to climate resilience. Applications are open across three categories: Climate Resilience, Inclusion, and QBE Employee Choice. Interested organisations can submit an expression of interest between, which opened on Tuesday, February 16, 2026 at 9am AEDT and March 16, 2026 at 5pm AEDT. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to complete a full application, with successful grant recipients to be announced later in the year. Eligibility criteria and application details are available on the QBE Foundation Local Grants webpage.
