Skateboarder dies after fall from car

A 23-year-old Thornlie man has died in hospital after falling off his skateboard while holding on to a moving vehicle.

At about 3.45pm on Saturday a maroon Toyota Camry was travelling south on Heathfield Drive in Landsdale when the driver noticed a skateboarder holding onto the rear of the vehicle.

The driver saw the skateboarder fall and stopped the car.

The skateboarder hit his head on the road and was taken to Royal Peth Hospital with critical head injuries.

He died in hospital on Tuesday as a result of his injuries.

The 25-year-old male driver of the Toyota from Upper Swan is assisting police with their inquiries.

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have seen the crash or the Toyota or skateboarder prior to the crash.
