A 34-year-old man has been charged following a police operation that began after an alleged assault at Karawara construction site on Thursday morning.
Police say a 21-year-old man was working at the site when he was approached by someone he knew around 2:30pm.
It is alleged the man threatened the worker while armed with what looked like a firearm.
The victim was reportedly struck in the face but did not require medical treatment.
The man left the area, prompting a major police response.
Tactical officers, the Regional Operations Group, and the Police Air Wing were called in to assist.
The suspect was later arrested at a property on Corfield Street in Gosnells. Officers found and seized a gel blaster at the scene.
The man has been charged with being armed in a way to cause fear, common assault, and possessing a prohibited weapon.
He was refused bail. He appeared in court June 20, 2025.
