Winners: Lisa Curroby, Jose Hoareau, Jessica Truesdale and Jessica Cartwright, with one of the local sponsors Magic Minerals.

Three Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale gardening enthusiasts are celebrating their wins in the 2023 SJ Garden Competition.

The event, a follow-up to the successful 2021 edition, featured entries across three categories: Native/Waterwise, Rural, and Urban gardens.

Jessica and Christopher Truesdale’s lawn-less garden with bright pops of native colour won the water-wise/native category.

Jessica and Jason Cartwright’s beautifully layered and drought-hardy tapestry of natives was named rural garden of the year.

While Jose and Elna Hoareau’s rose and frangipani-filled wonderland took out the urban garden of the year title.

Lisa Curroby’s garden was a very close second in the rural garden category.

Each winner received a $500 voucher sponsored by a local gardening business.

The shire wanted to acknowledge and thank all the sponsors for their support for the 2023 SJ Garden Competition.
