The men’s National Premier League (NPL) teams from Armadale Soccer Club battled on home ground on Alfred Skeet Reserve against Stirling Macedonia on Saturday.                  However, Armadale proved to be no match for Stirling in an all-round defeat during the round 10 games.

Starting First                                                                                                            Coming from a round nine win against Fremantle City FC in a five-nil triumph, Armadale SC NPL’s starting first team suffered a six goal to one loss against Stirling Macedonia on Saturday.                                                                                                                    Pieter Jacobsz scored the team’s only goal in the first half, making him the highest scoring NPL player so far with 11 goals this season.                                                                  However, Stirling’s Samuel Dweh was a three-time goal scorer for the opposition in the second half.                                                                                                         Yellow cards were given out to four of Armadale’s players including Callum Dobbs, Hamish Van Dieken, Igor Cvijanovic and Purvish Appadoo.                                              Lucas Cook was sent off with a red card at the 68th minute.                              Sebastian Medica was positioned as goalkeeper during the game against Stirling Macedonia which had three minutes overtime played.                                                  Armadale FC men’s NPL sit fifth on the ladder with four wins, three losses and three draws.

U23s                                                                                                                      Armadale SC NPL under 23s team followed the round nine with a two goals to one loss against Fremantle City FC with a three-nil loss to Stirling Macedonia on May 31. Jack Sparkes, Jermaine Kerr and William Sumail were all given yellow cards during the second half, with Liam Cowie awarded a yellow card during the 43rd minute.                                Pacifique Dufitimukiza from Stirling scored two goals for the opposition, one in each half, while Matteo Cottino – also from Stirling – scored one goal in the first half.                        U23s sit ninth on the ladder with three wins, two draws and five losses.

U18s                                                                                                                          Men’s NPL under 18s from Armadale SC suffered a one goal to five loss on Saturday, following a one-to-one draw against Fremantle City FC the week before.                          Martin Dickerson scored Armadale’s only goal at the home game against Stirling Macedonia in the second half, with four Stirling players scoring goals.                            Michael Brennan secured two goals, one in each half, and Finlay Paterson, Mark Springate and Joshua Canlas each scored one goal.                                                        Armadale’s Codie Rigby and Freddie Ward were each given a yellow card in the 40th and 48th minute respectively.                                                                                              U18s sit 11th on the ladder with one win, one draw and 18 losses.

Coming up                                                                                                                  Armadale SC NPL teams face off against Sorrento Football Club on June 7 at Percy Doyle Reserve in Duncraig.                                                                                                    U18s play at 11am, followed by U23s at 1pm and the starting NPL team at 3pm.          The next Armadale FC home game is played for round 13 on June 21 against Perth RedStar Football Club.
