Jarrahdale Primary students gave it their all.

Serpentine Jarrahdale residents brought Paterson Street to life with festive cheer as a record crowd celebrated the 2023 SJ Christmas Street Festival last Friday evening.

Around 5500 people attended the SJ Shire’s signature Christmas event – nearly 2000 more than last year’s event.

The packed-out crowd enjoyed a buzzing atmosphere filled with live performances, market stalls and a selection of Perth’s best food trucks.

Children were entertained with Christmas craft activities, roving characters, free face-painting and a chance to whisper in Santa’s ear.

Entertainment was provided by local groups including Jarrahdale Primary School, Byford Secondary College, Elite Dance Company Perth, Heritage Country Choir and local singing sensation Isla Macdonald.

The stage was hosted by Little Legends Entertainment, who also provided interactive crowd enjoyment, while Community Bank Byford and Districts sponsored the Christmas lights display.

The event also marked the opening of voting in the 2023 SJ Christmas Lights Competition.

Voting is open until 2pm next Monday, 18 December. To cast your vote, visit: www.yoursaysj.sjshire.wa.gov.au/sj-christmas-lights-voting
