Man injured by wire trap set on riding track

A cyclist was injured from an allegedly illegally placed wire trap in Jarrahdale.

Armadale Detectives are seeking assistance from the public in relation to the alleged illegal setting of a wire trap along a bush track near Jubb Road in Jarrahdale.

Police expect the trap was set approximately sometime around the June 24 date.

In one incident, a 47-year-old male victim was riding his mountain bike through the area when he struck the metal wire, which was suspended between chest and neck height between two trees in the bushland.​

The man sustained a serious laceration and bruising to his right bicep as a result of coming into contact with the wire.

​It is believed several more victims may have also been affected, and police are calling for anyone hurt by the trap or who has information about the trap to come forward and make a report.
