A 20-year-old man is lucky to be alive after the car he was travelling in rolled and hit a tree in Oldbury last week.

The crash happened in Coyle Road near the intersection of King Road about 12pm on May 31.

A Department of Fire and Emergency Services spokesperson said

the department was notified about the crash about 12.21pm and sent volunteer and career crews from Armadale, Kwinana, Rockingham and Hope Valley to the scene to free the man from the vehicle.

St John Ambulance and police were also in attendance and the RAC Rescue Chopper was called but the driver was taken by road to Royal Perth Hospital.

He received multiple injuries and was sent to the state trauma unit at Royal Perth Hospital for treatment.
