St Nobert College in Queens Park has been named one of the four recipients of the 2025 Felton Grant, a national program supporting schools and sporting clubs to improve outdoor spaces.

The grant is delivered by Felton Industries and, this year, four organisations across Australia are sharing a total of the grant pool of $40,000. St Nobert College is the only Western Australian recipient.

According to the announcement, the 2025 program attracted hundreds of applications from across the country. Successful; projects were assessed on creativity, practicality and their potential to strengthen community connection through improved outdoor infrastructure.

Neil Grime, Business Manager at St Nobert College, said the grant would support the construction of an all-weather structure for the college’s new hard courts as part of its specialised basketball program.

“The Felton grant will help us with constructing an all-weather structure for our new hard courts in support of our specialised basketball program,” Mr Grime said.
“The furniture from the grant will let students, parents, and the community comfortably watch while games are being played and will improve student wellbeing and enjoyment through having improved sporting facilities available to them.”

He also confirmed to the Examiner that the grant will support upgrades as part of the college’s playing fields.

“The grant will support the purchase of equipment from Felton Industries to be used in the college’s playing fields refurbishment works,” Mr Grime said.

“These proposed works are to include a new all-weather structure and new hard courts to improve support for the college’s specialised sporting programs.”

The other 2025 recipients are Camden Rugby Union in New South Wales, Epsom Primary School in Victoria and Mossman State High School in Queensland.

Felton Industries said the grant program aims to recognise projects that enhance outdoor learning, encourage physical activity and support social interaction through durable, Australian-made outdoor furniture.

The 2025 Felton Grant was open for submission from August 11 to September 12. Applicants were asked how proposed projects would deliver long-term benefits for their communities.
