As the fixtured football season is rapidly coming to a close for this year, the Kelmscott Bulldogs have fought for a spot in the grand final.
From the All Abilities to the colts, the Kelmscott Bulldogs have continuously showed a good fight, with this week being no exception.
All Abilities
Fresh off their round 12 bye, the All Abilities showed up for their second last game of the fixtured season.
Playing at Creyk Park against Curtin Uni Wesley on Saturday, the Bulldogs had a one goal win in the 42 to 36 final score.
Starting off strong, the Bulldogs kicked one goal in the first quarter, with Curtin only kicking two points.
However, the Bulldogs drifted behind in the second quarter and the beginning of the second half, finishing the second quarter on 13 compared to Curtin’s 15, and again finishing the third quarter two points behind Curtin on 22.

Kelmscott brought the power for the final quarter, kicking three more goals and two points to finish on six goals and six points, ahead of Curtin on five goals and six points.
Kelmscott’s Fraser Kickett secured three goals for the team, with Lee Maas, Matt Emery and Peter Christoff each kicking one.
Also celebrating Saturday with a milestone 50 games, Trent Fleming basked in the Bulldog All Abilities win.
The Bulldogs are second on the ladder with 30 points, only six points behind two tied first teams.
Their final game will be played this Saturday at 9am at Creyk Park against Kingsway.
Women’s C1
The Bulldog women had a thrashing win on Saturday morning against Kenwick at Mills Park.
In a standout 90 to zero score for the round 14 game, the women played strongly throughout all four quarters.
Finishing on 13 at the end of the first quarter, Kelmscott kicked two goals and one point, followed by three goals and seven points in the second quarter to finish the first half on 38.
Starting off in the second half, the women kicked four more goals and five more points, before finishing even stronger than they started in the final quarter.
Kelmscott finished on 12 goals and 18 points, with Imahra Cameron kicking five of those goals.
Mahalia Rukuata kicked three goals, followed by Louise Knitter, Tannah Lee, Britlee Eades and Kerry Hayden who all kicked one each.
The women play their second last game this Saturday on home ground at John Dunn Memorial Park against Coolbellup, and are tied second on the ladder with Ocean Ridge, both on 40 points.
Men’s C4
The Kelmscott men’s team kept up with the Bulldogs’ winning streak against North Fremantle on Saturday at Gil Fraser Reserve.
Starting off ahead in the first quarter, Kelmscott were up 15 to North Fremantle’s eight, with two goals and three points compared to one goals and two points.
In the second quarter, the Bulldogs jumped ahead to kick six more goals and two more points, with Fremantle only kicking one more point.
The Bulldogs finished the first half on 53.
Jumping into the second half, North Fremantle finished the third quarter on 17 with Kelmscott on a massive lead of 89, continuing its strength and finishing on a whopping 96 compared to North Fremantle’s 39.
Kelmscott kicked 15 goals, and six points compared to five goals and nine points.
Brett Eades kicked four goals for Bulldogs, with Bryce Ugle kicking three, captain Kyle Collard kicking three, Angus Yarran kicking two, and Jordan Douglas, Drew Robinson, and Justin Lewis each kicking one.
With only three rounds left, the Bulldog men are tied second place with 48 points ahead of this Saturday’s game against Kenwick on home soil.
Men’s Reserves
With three rounds left and a home game against Kenwick to be played this weekend, the Kelmscott Bulldogs reserves gave it their all on Saturday against North Fremantle at Gil Fraser Reserve.
With Fremantle leading the fight in the first quarter 27 to one, the Bulldogs picked it up in the second quarter to kick three more points and two goals, but North Fremantle was still ahead on 36.
Working hard in the second half, the Bulldogs kicked three goals, but it just wasn’t enough for the efforts of North Fremantle who kicked sic goals and seven points.
To finish the game on 78 to 40, the Bulldogs kicked six goals, and four points compared to Fremantle’s 11 goals and 12 points.
Ethan Smart, Michael Masters, Blake Marten and Jacob Bromfield each kicked the Bulldogs one goal, with Matthew Green kicking two.
Men’s Brett Jones Colts
The colts took on round 15 against North Fremantle at Gil Fraser Reserve, proving they had unbeatable Bulldog power.
With the game ending on a tragic 22 to 121, the Bulldogs proved they deserve their ladder spot, sitting third with 48 points, only four points behind tied firsts.
The Bulldogs started strong from the first quarter, kicking six goals and nine points to get their lead 45 to one.
The Bulldogs finished the first half on 60 compared to North Fremantle’s 16, keeping their lead well into the second half.
With North Fremantle finishing the third quarter stationary on 16, Kelmscott were able to kick another three goals and five points to extend their lead to finish on 83.
At the final whistle, Kelmscott were on 17 goals and 19 points, well ahead of their rivals on three goals and four points.
Tyson Hoare kicked a massive four goals for Kelmscott, with Noah Soper and Isaiah Dimer kicking three.
The colts also take on Kenwick this Saturday.
