The upcoming annual fundraiser for the Armadale Soccer Club will take place in August, with both junior boys and girls players being celebrated.
Teams from around Perth will come together to compete in round-robin style games to showcase the athletic talent the Armadale area has to offer in the Armadale Cup, encouraging soccer skills, teamwork and sportsmanship in youth players.
The two events bring together players, families and community members to support youth participation in sport in the local areas and demonstrate the growth of grassroots sports.
The boys’ rounds are played across two days, on the weekend of Saturday and Sunday September 13 and 14.
Under nine and under 11s play on Saturday, followed by under eight, under 10 and under 12 on Sunday.
The girls’ rounds – which are in its fourth year – are played the following weekend, on Saturday September 20 with under eight, under 10 and under 12 teams all competing.
Both events are held at Morgan Park Reserve in Armadale, with games starting from 8am, and a presentation beginning at approximately 3:45pm for 45 minutes.
Money raised during the tournament is contributed towards Armadale Soccer Club’s junior program to support continued community engagement in youth sport.
Outstanding players are recognised in the tournament following the grand final qualifier round, with sportsmanship and endeavour awards being presented to the players.
Team registrations opened on Monday via https://www.trybooking.com/DDKVV for boys’ teams, and at https://www.trybooking.com/DDPGA for girls’ teams with spots quickly filling.
