CBC have made Armadale work hard in the first day of their clash at the home of cricket, Gwynne Park.

Armadale won the toss, and it appeared a great decision as Rhys Mackie (2-6 off nine overs) and Ainsley Noronha (2-10 off nine overs) bowled magnificently to reduce CBC to 5-17.

CBC fought back well to be back in the game at 5-90, before skipper Taymon McLaughlin (3-16 off 8 overs) turned the game again to see CBC at 9-102. CBC kicked again and were dismissed in the last over for 135.

Seventh Grade

Seventh Grade took on Cannington who won the toss and batted and got off to a flyer to be 1-102 after only 17 overs.

Armadale fought back brilliantly though, led by skipper Joel Elsley (4-29) and Hayden Grant (2-43) and Ash Garven (2-44) as Cannington were dismissed for 182.

In reply, Armadale are in a little bit of trouble at 2-18 at stumps.

One Day B

One Day B have gone down to Cannington who batted first and amassed 4-285 from their 35 overs. Om Kalyan (1-44) was the pick of the bowlers.

In reply, Nikhil Surampudi (46 off 42) started brightly before Muhammad Arshad (47 from 43) followed suit.

Armadale fell away after to be dismissed for 150.

One Day C

One Day C took on Roleystone and batted first after winning the toss. Armadale got off to a poor start, slumping to 5-47.

Aneesh Babu (31) and Shameem Chakkittammal (22) then fought back, before Harikrishnan Rameshan (26) did well at the death to see Armadale to 137 all out.

In reply, Roleystone started well to be 2-56, before Basil Mathai (2-12) and Sinju Karim (2-23) turned the game. Shameem Chakkittammal (2-16) also got amongst it to see Roleystone dismissed for 106.

One Day D

One Day D have gone down fighting against Thornlie after batting first. Armadale got off to a good start to be 0-39 thanks to 19 from both openers, Rajkumar Sadasivan and Senthilkumar Kamalakannan.

Unfortunately, it was all downhill from there as Armadale were dismissed for 96. In reply an inspired spell by Dhanasekar Srinivasan (5-31), with the help of Chandrasekaran Seenuvasan (2-20) saw Thornlie crumble to 5-15 and 6-39.

Unfortunately, they couldn’t maintain it and Thornlie were dismissed for 112. Anton Amalraj chipped in with a handy 2-12 at the death.

One Day G

One Day G have had an incredible tie in their clash with Cockburn who won the toss and batted. Cockburn started well to be 1-55, despite a tidy spell by Dean Yetton (1-5 off 7), the then were sitting pretty at 2-89.

Andrew Stoodley then stepped up and snared 3-22 to restrict Cockburn to 8-117.

In reply, Armadale reached 0-54 without loss and looked to be cruising at 2-70 thanks to Jake Edwards (43) and Paul Edwards (21).

With the overs running out Armadale lost a string of wickets and with scores tied with a ball to go there was a run out in an amazing finish as Armadale made 9-117.

One Day H

One Day H have had a great win against Willetton after batting first.

Derek Goscombe dominated the innings, making a magnificent 100no off 100 balls, and he was given good support from Kelvin Gray (19) as Armadale finished on 5-176.

In reply Willetton fought hard but finished just short on 5-165. Derek Goscombe completed a great double, taking 2-15, while Todd King bowled well to snare 1-17 from 7 overs.

The club’s annual reunion and past players day, together with the Legends and Life Members Day will be held next Saturday, February 10, at Gwynne Park.
