Season looking bright for Hawks

A sense of optimism was in the air.

More than a month into the 2026 Footy season, the Gosnells Hawks have just completed their fourth round of the season, and it was a major one.

“A big day at home for our Women, Reserves and League sides, while the Thirds battled it out away. Colts had the bye, with a number of young guns stepping up into senior footy,” the club said.

The women’s match was described as a huge effort against the top side, with special celebrations for Marlee and Brianna’s milestone games being given.

The women came out firing with a goal in the opening minute, which lifted team spirits nice and early.

Missed opportunities proved costly, however, with the Hawks going down ultimately by just 8 points.

There will be plenty to work on as they build towards next week.

The Reserves recorded another solid victory. The club said it was: “Great to see a few Colts step up and contribute to a solid team performance.”

There was a big response from the League boys, who bounced back in style.

With some key inclusions and three debutants, it was a great, and memorable, day for the club.

Congratulations were given to Cayne Rayment, Rilee Hodges and Riley Wilson for donning the league jumper for the first time.

It was a tough day for the Thirds boys, but they’ll regroup and look ahead to Belmont at home this coming weekend, according to the club.

Various special mentions were made, and: “Huge congratulations to Westy and TJ for taking out this year’s Gozzy Games,” were given.

“The club was absolutely buzzing, and we’re already looking forward to doing it all again next year.

“Fixtures for this weekend will be dropping later in the week. All teams will be away, with Thirds at home.”

The scoresheet indicates that the club is well-placed for success as the season heats up, but much remains to be seen in terms of their overall success this season.
