The school community was drawn together by their shared faith.

Students, families and community members were invited to pause, reflect and reconnect during a Faith Week gathering on 2nd April that focused on the Easter story, personal reflection and shared worship.

The event was held at Australian Christian College Darling Downs, where a dedicated Prayer Space was established to provide students with the opportunity to apply their Chapel learning in a meaningful and practical way.

According to Australian Christian College, through a series of themed activity stations, students reflected on a variety of themes centring on God’s love, engaged thoughtfully with the Easter story, and spent quiet, personal time in prayer and reflection.

The experience was enriched by a performance from ACC Darling Downs staff that reinforced the day’s spiritual focus. The featured song was Hillsong Worship’s ‘Worthy is the Lamb.’

“We really loved the Faith Assembly. The performances were beautiful, and it was so lovely to see the focus kept on the true meaning of Easter. The space was set up so thoughtfully, and the coffee van was a great touch. We especially enjoyed the teachers’ performance, and it was wonderful seeing the kids showing such lovely manners,” said one parent.

“I was greatly blessed by being there. Every song made me feel close to tears, and the staff here are doing such a great job,” said another.

Mitch Lastrilla, a teacher at the school, believed this was an event of the greatest spiritual magnitude for the school and its community.

“Our Faith Assembly was a deeply meaningful event for our school, allowing us to share the love and hope of our Lord Jesus Christ with our community. Students were given the opportunity to reflect and connect with God through their songs. Parents enjoyed not only the performances but also the clear gospel message woven into each song and scripture reading throughout the assembly.

“As a teacher, it was a joy to collaborate with colleagues who enthusiastically volunteered their time and talents to form our very first organic worship band. It was truly a beautiful celebration of God’s love and the hope we find in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.”
