Four students from Lynwood Senior High School have returned from national competition after representing Western Australia at the 2026 National Futsal Championships in Queensland.

Adam Ikhlef Year 10, Elliot May Year 10, Mitchell Mills Year 9 and Ryan Ikhlef Year 11 were selected through the Lynwood SHS Soccer Academy and competed in January at the Gold Coast Sports and Leisure Centre.

Soccer Academy Coordinator Tony Campbell said the school was proud of the students’ performance on the national scene.

“The Lynwood SHS Soccer Academy are delighted and proud of four of our students who recently represented WA in the National Futsal competition in January,” Mr Campbell said.

“Adam Ikhlef, Elliot May, Mitchell Mills and Ryan Ikhlef performed exceptionally well, helping their respective teams make the Grand Final. Unfortunately, no one was able to bring the gold medal but it was still an incredible achievement.”

Mr Campbell said the experience would help drive the students further this year.

“No doubt the boys will take everything they have learned and push even harder this year to take that final step and the Lynwood SHS Soccer Academy will be supporting them all the way,” he said.

Students interested in joining the Soccer Academy will have an opportunity later this year with trials for Year 6 students scheduled for May 12.
