The 2024–2025 season was one to remember for Maddington Little Athletics Club, with young athletes smashing records, winning medals, and proudly representing their community at top competitions.

The club, founded in 1972, has been a cornerstone for local families for over five decades. This year’s achievements reflect not just talent, but also the dedication of coaches, parents, and volunteers who show up week after week.

Coaches trained the athletes six days a week, rain or shine, helping them grow in skill and confidence. Their commitment paid off.

At the Zone Championships in Rockingham in February, Grayson D’Agnone-Doyle (U7 Boys) won gold in vortex, and silver in shot put and discus. Wyatt Davis (U7 Boys) earned bronze in hurdles.

March brought more success at the State Championships. Chet Smith (U9 Boys) took bronze in shot put, while Tory D’Alessio won double gold in the U14 Girls 1500m and U15 Women 3000m race walk.

Katica Borsic also claimed two gold medals in the U16 Girls 1500m and U17 Women 5000m race walk, and added bronze in the 100m hurdles. Trent D’Alessio took silver in the U16 Boys 1500m race walk, Jackson Almstrom picked up bronze in the same event, and Jesstine Morales won gold in the U17 Boys 1500m race walk.

Tory D’Alessio capped off the season by representing WA at Nationals, where she won bronze in the U15 Women 3000m race walk.

The club says it is proud of every athlete and grateful to the families who continue to support their children’s sporting journeys. With another season wrapped up, they are already looking forward to welcoming back returning members and meeting new ones next year.
