Mystery surrounds man found unconscious

A man in his 50s was hospitalised after being found unconscious with a serious head injury near the Settlers Common Environment Centre on Good Friday.

About 12.30pm, a member of the public located a 53-year-old man in the carpark adjacent to the Settlers’ Common Environmental Centre, in the vicinity of Triton Crescent and Trundle Trail.

The man, with clear and significant injuries, was lying unconscious near the driver’s side door of his silver Holden Commodore sedan.

Emergency services responded to the report and attended the scene.

He was immediately taken to Royal Perth Hospital via St. John WA where he remains in a serious condition with broken ribs and injuries to his head.

Road rage?

A 25-year-old man has been charged after a potentially road rage-fuelled hit and run in Armadale last Wednesday.

Police are alleging that about 7.30pm, a white Subaru Forester station wagon and a blue Toyota Hilux utility stopped on South Western Highway near the intersection of William Street, and the driver of the Hilux exited his vehicle to speak with driver of the Subaru.

After words were exchanged, the man was then allegedly struck by the Subaru, causing minor injuries.

A 25-year-old man from Armadale has been charged with one count of ‘Intent to Harm, did an Act Causing Bodily Harm’ and one count of ‘Driver Failed to Stop and Ensure Assistance received after Incident Occasioning Bodily Harm’.

He is due to appear in Armadale Magistrates Court on Monday, 5 May.

Armadale Detectives are appealing for dash-cam or mobile phone footage from anyone who may have been driving on South Western Highway in Byford around 7.30pm on Wednesday 16 April.
