The pageant world will not know what has hit it when 16-year-old beauty queen Hannah Cavanagh takes to the stage in Orlando later this year.
Crowned Miss Teen Galaxy Australia in Queensland earlier this month, the Gosnells resident will travel to the US in July to represent Australia on the world stage. Hannah said she had never competed internationally before and was excited for the opportunity to compete in the Miss Teen category. “It will be super full on,” she said. “We have an event every single day with photo shoots, interviews, judging and preliminary events.”
Hannah’s mother Brigitte Cavanagh said she would travel a couple of days after Hannah leaves and she was responsible for making sure all her dresses, jewellery and shoes were on board.
“Hannah has always been a little bit pretty and ‘Barbiefied’ but she is a bit of a dag underneath all the glam,” she said. “She is down to earth and tenacious so if she wants something she will go for it and give herself every opportunity to get it.” Hannah will compete in a number of categories including swimwear and fashion wear events and said she hoped to place within the top five in her competition.
“I want to be a good role model and want to inspire people to follow their dreams,” she said.
The 2018 Miss Teen Galaxy International pageant will be held in July at Caribe Royale Resort in Florida.
