A 32-year-old man has been charged after he allegedly shot a woman while driving on the Tonkin Highway in Gosnells last month.

Police alleged the man was in the backseat of a vehicle in the early hours of October 25 when he shot a 41-year-old woman, who was sitting in the front passenger seat.

The car was being driven by a 43-year-old man.

Police also alleged the 32-year-old man went to a hardware store in Armadale Road, Jandakot about 2.15pm the same day and stole a number of items.

He allegedly threatened staff before leaving in a vehicle.

On November 22 the man was arrested and charged with one count each of unlawful wounding, threatening to kill and robbery.

He appeared in the Armadale magistrates court on November 23.
