A new route connecting Canning Vale to the new Perth stadium has been announced for major events.

Residents of Canning Vale and the surrounding suburbs who take public transport to the new Perth stadium will be able to do so more easily after the announcement of a new direct bus route for major events.

The new bus route 656 will operate for two hours ahead of full-capacity stadium events, depart from Livingston Marketplace Shopping Centre on Ranford Road.

A bus will depart the stop every five to ten minutes, with the same service available from the stadium to Canning Vale after events.

The buses will stop at 15 locations along the route including Bentley Plaza on Albany Highway.

A full list of bus stops can be found at the TransPerth website.

Major events at the stadium in 2019 include a soccer match between Chelsea Football Club and Perth Glory, the State of Origin, Australian Rules Football derby matches and the One Day International cricket series.

The bus route will not be in operation when the stadium open day is being held on January 21.

Member for Jandakot Yaz Mubarakai urged residents in Canning Vale and the surrounding areas to investigate using the service.

“I look forward to the start of this service for the One Day International Cricket on January 28 and I encourage community members attending an event at the stadium to check the Transperth website to find the stadium event bus stop closest to them.”
