John Wollaston Anglican Community School students were locked in their classrooms on Wednesday morning as a man was arrested on school grounds.

Police were called to the rear of the school grounds near Inverness Circle in Camillo at about 9.30am after school staff reported a man yelling and being aggressive.

Police arrived a short time later and arrested the man near the ground keeper’s shed.

A spokeswoman said they then took him to Armadale Kelmscott Memorial Hospital for assessment.

JWACS administration director Nick Tanner said they went into lock-in after the man was spotted.

“The police were called and we went into lock-in and the police attended very promptly they have dealt with the intruder and removed him from the school grounds,” he said.

No one was harmed in the incident.
