Police are investigating a series of tyre-slashing incidents that occurred in Southern River in early January, affecting multiple vehicles parked at residential properties.

According to Western Australian Police Force, two reports were received relating to incidents on Daleford Way in the early hours of Sunday, January 4, 2026.

Five vehicles across two neighbouring properties had their tyres deliberately damaged.

The incidents occurred at around 3:38am.

A resident affected by the vandalism said four vehicles were parked outside at the time, with two cars having two tyres slashed and two others having one tyre damaged.

Police said any information will assist their investigation.

“It was incredibly frustrating and expensive,” the resident said.

CCTV footage from one of the properties shows two people near the vehicles around the time of the incident.

While the images are unclear, police say they still assist the investigation.

Police have conducted initial enquiries, including door-knocking in the area, but say there are currently no leads.

Residents are being urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour.

Anyone who may recognise clothing, footwear, or behaviour seen in the footage, or who was in the area at the time, is encouraged to come forward.

Information can be provided to Crime Stoppers online or by calling 1800 333 000. Reports can be made anonymously, and police say even small details may assist the investigation.
