Thousands of people converged on the Mundijong War Memorial last Friday to pay their respects and remember those who fought so that we may live freely.
Around 1000 people saw in the sunrise for the Dawn Service and a further few hundred were in attendance for the procession and community service later that morning.

“As the first light spreads across the Darling Scarp and filters through the trees and paddocks, the people of the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale stand shoulder to shoulder this morning,” Major Jan Honter, President of the SJ RSL said during his Dawn Service address.
“We are here united in remembrance, in gratitude and in quiet reflection.
“ANZAC Day is not only about remembering the past. It is about drawing inspiration from the bravery, the resilience and the mateship of those who have served. These values continue to shape our identity as Australians.
“The ANZAC spirit is not confined to the battlefield – it lives on in our communities, and in the acts of kindness and support we offer to one another.
“To the young Australians here today, you are the future custodians of this legacy. You honour the ANZAC spirit when you look after your mates, offering them support when you need it most; stand up for what is right, even when it is difficult; and give back to your community, recognising that we are stronger together.
“Let us carry the ANZAC legacy forward, forever grateful for the sacrifices made by our service men and women.”
