A 31-year-old man has been charged following a frightening incident involving a suspected firearm at Maddington service station.

Police said the man went to service station on Orchard Road about 6:20pm on Saturday, where he allegedly stole several items and caused a disturbance.

He then reportedly got into his car and drove in front of another vehicle, blocking the driver, a 63-year-old man.

It is alleged the man pointed what appeared to be a firearm at the victim before speeding away.

Armadale Detectives arrested the man shortly after at a Maddington home.

He has been charged with threatening to kill, being armed in a way that may cause fear, stealing, disorderly behaviour, driving without authority, and possessing methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

He has been remanded in custody and was charged to court on Sunday.
