The Animal Protection Society in Southern River is inviting everybody to visit their open day next week to visit kittens like Tjay.

The Animal Protection Society will be a hosting an open day next week and was inviting anybody who might be thinking of adding a pet to their family to come along.

The society was a not-for-profit refuge for homeless cats and dogs based in Southern River.

It has been in operation for more than 40 years and can cater for up for 24 dogs, 65 cats and 45 kittens.

Except instances in which a veterinarian advises the refuge does not euthanise their animals and as a result they receive limited government funding.

The open day will be held on May 7 from 10am to 12pm.

It would offer visitors the chance to get a deeper look into the work at the facility, browse a variety of stalls and meet the animals.

Stalls will include books, pet treats, candles, raffles and food.

The Animal Protection Society is at 27 Talbot Road, Southern River.
